That is funny! Seems it would be odd set up like that unless it was supposed to limit suspension travel. Hope to hack it off tonight.

Been running it around last couple days, it will run good then after a while it will act like the ignition shuts off at speed, once that starts it gets to a point where it won't start, I change the plug and good as new. The plug does not look fouled so I am not sure whats up and am hoping it is just the 64/1 break in fuel mixture. It seems to have excessive vibration which causes noise (metal on metal buzzing/harmonic) that I am trying to track down. My only disapointment is the noise, being I had an electric for 10 yrs I am spoiled but this thing is loud and I will need to figure out how to quiet it down.

It runs 20 mph on GPS at about 4,500 rpm, not sure if the tach is right but is working.

The calculator says 4500 with 18" tires is 20mph, so it sounds right :)

I pulled the shroud and helps a little but I think the drive clutch is causing the vibration, there is that spot that has a chunk broke off the outer edge of the clutch and that is possibly causing a lot of vibration. I am worried about the damage that could result, you can see the damage in the pic below, the chunk missing is closest to the camera by the dent. I might start looking for another clutch, is there any specific things I should look for?

Yours is the 30mm, more common on newer sleds, compared to the 25mm on the 2pg.
I doubt that aluminum missing would cause much shake, though. Maybe experiment a similar, opposed chunk?

It appears it's the starter/generator. Even though the bolt was tight it is so sloppy in the mount.

Drill it and press in a sleeve?

It's the frame mount and I could probably sleeve it as is. cannot drill it.

Did you try starting it, raising the idle so it stays lit, loosen the S/G belt, to rule it out?
