That's a good point. They're pretty well proven. I have two 390's. Paid $300 for the first one and $289 for the 2nd one. The 2nd one is still in the plastic bag waiting for my Club Car project. The 15 HP 420's are on right now for $329.

Been using one of my 390's for 4 years in an old 1990 EZGO. It's a gas miser. I use it a lot and I only go through about 10 gal a season. Starts and runs great every time. Also have a 6.5 HP clone I used on a small mini-bike for a while but it was ridiculously overpowered. I currently have it on old lawn tractor I use for pulling a trailer around. I've had no trouble with it or the 390 so far. I'm pretty easy on them though.

I'm pretty sure with his supercharger set up he has turned 7000 RPMs with no problems. If that didn't grenade it then I don't know what will.

I agree with this. The motor has potential. It just hasn't been on the market long enough for someone to develop parts for it.

Every engine has a rpm limit if over revved it will fail. Even formula one engines at 18000 + or whatever the current tech is.I am certain marathons engine is well built but I don't believed that it cannot be over revved as some what's the limit test.

We really don't know if you could simply put the honda speed equipment on the HF vtwin. It would good if a builder like marathon or nobuck or gdfp took on one of these engines and really could say this or that is weak or this or that is good but so far all we have is speculation on what might be bad.All the engines we are all using have had valve train modifications for higher rpm use.670 cc @ 5000 rpm would probably produce some nice power.

Isn't this motor a clone of the Briggs vanguard motor. My guess is the upgrades for the vannys would work with this.

Yep, the web is awash with them. Duck/mud boats, tractors, 6x6 buggies, light aircraft, they're getting good feedback.

It's a Honda clone. I think Parsons Racing has a rev kit for the GX630/GX670. I haven't found any verification that it will match up to this motor. I think the rev kit is like $230. A bit of a gamble without a guarantee that it will fit.

I have seen tons on youtube also.I mean't that at the two HF stores I been at there was not a LIVE example.I keep looking just to see one.I also wonder if a vertical shaft engine of larger displacement will appear.Someday I going to need a replacement for my oppie in my lawn tractor engine.
