1" Belts...

So I have the stock Club Car clutch on my predator 420. I am pretty sure it uses a 1" belt because that is what was on the cart before the swap and that is also what VC sent me.

Heres my problem, the original belt is too tight to get on and the VC belt is too loose even with the motor slid all the way forward. I even took the VC engine plate off and machined the slots longer. Still I can not get their belt tight enough. Looking around it seems that there are not many 1" belts available.

Can I get away with some different widths like 1 3/16, or 1 5/16?

Or if anyone knows where I can get a 1 x 39 belt from

So it turns out the mount VC sent 2 years ago is an old design and will not work with the belt they sell. So I had to do a ton of cutting on their mounting plate to get my engine far enough forward to use the belt they said would work. I wasn't about to buy another mount as they suggested. Kinda bummed with the customer service on this issue.

IIRC check with cartpartsplus I think they can machine/mod the secondary to work with 1 3/16 belts. Of course you need a 1 3/16 clutch on the engine too. Or dig around in here the subject has come up.

No there are not many 1" belts, last I knew only 2 sizes the stock CC and CPP had another one for swaps. There are lots of wider belts.

Vegas is usually pretty good but he does improve his stuff and change design. He is still one of the very few that makes mounts.

Glad you got it fixed, too bad you had an issue with it. And with no belt options at least this way you can use that belt with no issues.
