Default 24mm Bored 3-Circuit Carb Fuel Inlet

Has anyone pulled the gas line hose barb out of the carburetor body?

No. I'm afraid to ask why you are asking.

Yes, both were clone carbs. One came out cleanly and easily with a little heat. The other wasnt budging and I wound up mangling the metal line.

I've never had a reason to remove a fuel inlet spigot. What was the reason you removed them?

Well I had a low pressure electric fuel pump and it screwed me on a hot summer day, left me stranded in the middle of nowhere land. I decided I'd try a pulse pump. I got a 30 dollar Mikuni and for a while it worked great. The other day on my way home I was cruising a long at 30 mph and on a flat stretch I wanted to see some top end. I floored it -- stepped right up to 36 mph then died flat. No matter what I did it would not pump fuel -- no oil in the pulse line.
Well all this urethane gas line gets wasted cause once it's on it doesn't come off without cutting it. I'm reworking my fuel system to AN-3 fitting. I tried to loosen the spigot on my carb tonight and it came right loose.

Sorry to hear about your pump issues. Will 3AN be large enough? The stock fuel line is 1/4" isn't it. I've noticed my 625 has a thirst for 91 octane like an Irishman has for whiskey.

Agreed on the silicone hose. It barely needs a hose clamp to stay put once it takes shape to the spigot.

Sort of like Shepard I have run the gamut of fuel pumps that failed to deliver under high rpm, long run on hot days. I used the mikuni cart pump, mikuni snowmobile pump and an electric pump. All of those choices left me getting the cart back home not under it's own power. Finally I tried a B&S vanguard Vtwin pump. So far under the most rigorous conditions it has preformed well.

I bought another electric pump - a little different style. NPT to 3 an fittings, this way I can change out parts and not waste any hose. This carburetor has a much better float setup then the standard 460 carb. I'm going to try running without a return line and see if it floods.
