Default 2002 CC 36 volt Resistor to Curtis 1205M Wiring Question

I was wondering if there's a color coded wiring diagram like the one in the "sticky" here https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/atta...4&d=1370458142, for the same V-Glide throttle setup only wired to the Curtis 1204/5 controller?

I'm not very familiar with reading schematics and do much better with a picture or diagram.

I'm keeping the old V-Glide and added the 6 small resistors as described in another thread, might keep the old forward/reverse switch since I've read that the 36v ones were "heavy duty". I bought a new P125M (Curtis 1205M clone), MZJ-400 solenoid, and an AMD(Nidec) 7144 motor. Just waiting on battery cable.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I did find a pdf instruction manual online titled "STQ CC0 36VK SPEED KIT For 36-volt Club Car 1995-2005 DS Model Installation Instructions" with a lot of pictures. It "looks" like it uses a similar Curtis-style controller, but I don't believe the file is from a member sponsor. So I'm reluctant to post a link.

If someone here is familiar with that kit diagram, please chime in as to whether or not I could follow the same wiring procedure for my 36 volt controller upgrade?

Thanks

Have you checked the Stickies? The first one has a controller cart like you are talking about.

Thanks! I must have come across that and forgot about it, because when I tried to save the image...I got "already exists. Do you want to replace it?".

Sorry about that.

Ok, could someone please double check my V-Glide conversion? Is the jumper wire between terminals #2 & #3 necessary?

F&R switch picture showing connections. Does it look right? Still need to make a jumper lead for the F&R switch.

My cart is a 36 volt Club Car resistor cart. I've been using the attached wiring diagrams to update it to a solid state controller. I've made just about all of the connections, but would feel a lot better if someone could please take a look at the diagram on the left and tell me if the green wire from the V-Glide micro switch gets connected to the small terminal + or - of the solenoid.

My gut says +, but I can't afford to burn things up.

The second picture shows how I have it tentatively wired. The two blue wires from J1 and the F&R micro switch to the small terminal - side of the solenoid, and the green (white pictured) to the +.

PLEASE,

Thanks much,
Mike

The two blue wire should be with the striped end of the diode. This is the + terminal.

The green and the other side of the diode is the - terminal.

If it still doesn't work, you may have another issue. The micro switch in the F/R switch is not closing in forward and reverse. It should not close in neutral. There are three pins on that switch. Move the wire on one of the terminals that are close together to the other terminal.

That may be your problem if the solenoid does not energize except in neutral position.

Many thanks Tom!👍 I bought a 2 pack FNR micro switch kit and the reverse buzzer one was correct, the other was not. Once I replaced my old switch, I had a solenoid click in forward and reverse, instead of neutral. All of the wiring turned out right, thanks to your clarifying my last question.

The problem I’m having now, is definitely related to my v-glide switch. Initially the rear wheels spun only when the arm was over T8. But when I applied pressure with my finger on the wiper head, the wheels began to spin at lower steps but intermittently.

I just took some time with emery cloth on the step contacts of the v-glide and will give it another try tomorrow. If it still doesn’t work, I’ll have to decide between a new v-glide or a pb-6 style potentiometer.

Glad to help, Mike.

You can get parts to replace the contact plates and the brush in the V-glide for less than $100.00. A whole new V-Glide for yours is $225.00. I would go that route instead of installing an MCOR kit on your 36 volt series cart.

It sounds like yours may only need a new wiper brush, about $21.00.
