I've seen chinese light kits similar to what you're describing that had the same issues. Turned out that the taillight wires were pinned wrong in the plugs. Un-plug them from your tail lights and see if you can identify which one is ground, brake, and tail with a multimeter. If you can do that, it eliminates the wiring as the issue and narrows it down to the tail lights.

Got er fixed

There was 2 different issues here. The first issue was the tail lites not working, and the second issue was the turn signals were working opposite of the way they were suppose to.

The turn signals, as Tahoe () suggested, was the cheap wiring harness was pinned wrong, in the turn signal harness. There were 4 wires that were crossed. So i was able to fix that problem, in the turn signal wires.

The main problem i had, was the tail lites not working

I was testing the entire new harness, with my 12 volt dewalt tool battery ( i am a tool battery rebuilder). Well i put my meter on the dewalt battery, and it was down to 9 volts. So i charged it up and reconnected, and the tail lites ( running lites) now work. So apparently there was not a problem with those led tail lites, but the led rear lites worked with the brakes, and with the turn signals, but NOT the running lites. So i guess the running lites require more voltage ( 12v), to operate. So i learned some stuff here.

thanks for all the input guys, i love it here!

Forgot to reply to the thread. I recently installed the LED version of this kit on my 03 DS. I too had the same issue with the turn signals. The front was easy enough, just switch the two harness wires from one side to the other. Unfortunately in the back, I could not switch the wires around, I didn't have enough extra. So, I still had to switch the two pins in the 9-pin harness plug. May I add that the kit was purchased from East Coast Carts. Works good for the most part after I fixed it

How did you remove the pins from the plastic connector? I ended up cutting the wires and splicing them.

There were two clips on the pins and I got in there with the free HF pick set and pushed the clips in, pushed the pins out and switched them. This was on the signal side

They've started to give away some nicer stuff, parts bowls, tarps, funnels

Just to reassure you guys that you didn't buy a set of lights that are somehow inferior, I'll tell you that harnesses being pinned wrong is pretty common. I bought a very expensive set of 3600 lumen LED headlights - highs, lows, and fogs - 6 total bulbs each with their own integrated heat sink and fan and 6 drivers to run them. The pins were backwards in the harness for every single driver. A small pick set released the pins so I could swap them, and I was good to go.
