Default Lift and tires installed. What you think?

My 1995 Medalist. Allsports 5" high 5 lift and 26"x12"x10" Maxxis Mud Bugs on 10"x8" rims with 3" backspacing. No rubbing. I also installed the H/D rear leaf springs. The kids and I love it. My 3 year old son told me "Dad, our golf cart is a beast". I have the Alllsports tube bumper on the rear with hitch. Soon to come are a bed, front brushguard with lights, and my stock motor rewound by PQ for torque. I did not loose much speed or torque, but it noticeable from a dead stop. I would like a little more torque out the hole. For those that don't know I am running 48 volts via ( six volt batteries, 480 Amp Logisystems controller and H/D F/R and 48v Sol., with 2guage cables throughout. I ran 5 miles in the hilly terrain yesterday with my kids on a fresh charge and had 50.8 volts left in my pack. Prior to the lift and tire I ran 12 miles and had 50.2 volts left in pack. I will attempt the 12 mile run and post results for those that are interested. Thanks for looking. Also if anyone plans on using the Allsports lift and has question don't hesitate to ask. It is frsh in my mind and there were a few things that I had to figure out.

Thanks Todd,

Also it is 16" from the bottom of the front of the floor board to the ground. Slightly higher at the rear than the front.

Your Son is right

I think you will need a bigger motor to make those 26" tires jump out of the hole. They are just real big for the original motor.

Thanks, I like it too.
You have to upgrade your electronics before going big. Trust me, you'll burn your stuff up. Like I said I would go with 25" or 26" tire and 10" wide. My cart does 18 mph on flat ground with myself and my two kids.

Serouisly get with ScottyB and upgrade your stuff a little at a time if you have to. Another thing you can do is just start setting money aside for your cart fund. Tell Scotty what you want to do. I wouldn't buy anything until you speak with him. He will make sure you know what you need for what you want to do.

I have 26's on my wishlist too...but it's going to take a complete electrical change to make it possible!

I have the 4" drop axle lift on mine - and can barely run the 22" swamp foxes I have. I did pull up next to a Mule the other day that had 25" on it - and they were only about an inch taller than mine.

Wish I could get 25's on mine!

I don't have a prblem with the 26's unless I have the wheel hard over and climb something that is almost vertical on the inside of the turn. I had to make some 1/2" wheel spacers for the rear. The side lugs were rubbing a bit on the leaf springs. I would still like to put another 2" or 3" of lift all the way around. I can use blocks on the rear. An ideas for the front? I also need to send my motor off to PG toget it rewound for tourqe. I think you can never have enough torque. It is quite surprising what that littleold stock motor will do witth the 26" tires with the 48 volts and 480 amp controller.
