Motor/Axle angle
Just installed the rear blocks on the lift kit. Before I tighten everything up is there a correct angle the axle should be sitting. Was just thinking about the weight of the motor and possible axle wrap etc...Have a 90 Club Car Electric.

Re: Motor/Axle angle
The new leaf springs should have a bolt joining them in the center that is also used to center them on the blocks. The top of the block should have a matching hole for allignment. This keeps the axle perpendicular to the front/rear axis of the cart (keeps the wheelbase even on both sides). The blocks rest on top of the axle right above the flanges wherethecontent U bolts to go through. These flanges should be parallel to the ground. Some kits suggest a slight rotation aft, equal on both sides, in order to get the brake cables to reach. A better answer is to keep it level (equal torque on all U bolt nuts) and use a new bracket for the brake lines (I think Jake's has one).
If I'm totally off the mark about what you are asking, could you post a picture? Last edited by Grinch; 04-30-2011 at 06:09 AM.. Reason: content |

Re: Motor/Axle angle
You got it, Thanks. Didn't know if it should sit level, slight back or forward.
I put it right in the middle of balance of the motor. It seems to sit fine. |
