Jakes Precedent lift - ground wire?
I think I remember seeing a post on this a while back but I can't find it via search.
My Jakes 6" spindle lift came with a new ground wire and replacing the GW is one of the first steps in the install instructions. I found no such wire to replace. I'm thinking the post I saw a few months back brought this up and the response was that there is no GW to find and to just discard the part and follow the rest of the instructions. But I wanted to make sure that is the case. I've got everything done and the cart is running and riding like a dream. Also, in case anyone happens to read this before installing such a kit, I found it very helpful, as I read here before, to install the rear one side at a time to keep the motor and axle from rolling over on you. It's sort of disappointing to see that the kit, while easy enough to install, doesn't come with more decent instructions than it does. It makes no mention of doing the rear that way and actually says to remove everything on the rear end on both sides per each step. Someone that isn't aware in advance could really do some damage if they just drop both sides of the rear end, per the instructions, not knowing what might happen. |
