Just got a '96
Picked up this '96 36v Series a couple days ago. First cart I have messed with in 45 years...lol. Scotty has already been some help in the ID of it. I also guess it is a TXT whatever that refers to. Not sure what they are worth but I feel I did ok based on the local market.
Had to replace the F&R switch. PO said he never had problems..sure....the contacts just melted when I drove up to look...... Anyway, got a heavy duty switch locally for $126 out the door due to a price misquote. Works great for our needs on the 4.3 acres. Will need to get new cables some time and it has a bit of up and down play at the spindle/axle pivot. Nothing serious. |

Re: Just got a '96
looks like a fantastic platform to begin modding......
TXT is a model of cart. basically as a 96, you have one of the first year production of the TXT model. The TXT model was based on the Medalist model. The difference between the 2 is a Medalist has a steel body whereas a TXT uses the plastic body. Not sure how it is on PC, but around here, with a long top and the rear seat, if you paid anything under $2k you got a really good deal. That cart, at my shop (in running condition, with used batteries) would probably be on the line for about $3k. |

Re: Just got a '96
lmao, trust me.... the bug will bite you and the next thing you know you will have spent 3 times that amount on modifications..... Then suddenly you will sell that one just so you can buy another and do it all over again.....
Seriously though, $1500 is a fantastic deal for that cart..... figure the rear seat alone is worth $300, the roof another $200-300...... |

I know....I was restoring old Mustangs for several years.....and now, even the '11 California Special nudges the mod bug every so often.
It appears that this series cart is a good choice for my uses too. Didn't know squat about them...just bought based on price. |

Nice job, I just got a 97 (serial number lookup says 98?), for $1400. Yours looks to be in better shape.
Already spent a little over $500 with at least that much to go before I am happy. |
