Default scottyb Wire Question

Hey guys:

I overhauled a 2008 ezgo pds back in september. Lifted, tires, controller, bumper, cargo rack, etc...

Scotty B sent me the alltrax 400 Controller as well as ALL 8 of his 4G wires.

It worked out awesome!

On to the question at hand.

The only thing I didn't touch was the batteries. I didn't feel like messing with it myself due to time and decided to let a local golf cart shop switch out my batteries (wires , etc)

Long story short , the batteries are great, but the idiot thought he was doing me a favor by replacing my wires also! He put the 6G wires on all 5 of the connections between each batteries, and left the 4G wires on the other 3 connections from the controller.

Now I must admit, I had let some corrosion build up on it by not properly maintaining it in the winter, but the guy at the shop had no clue about my upgraded wires.

They actually had to dig them out of the trash when I explained I wanted them back.

Question is.... If I get the corrosion off with a wire brush, will they still be just as good, or do I need to get new ones from scottyb?

Also, what is the downside, or problems that could arise if I need to drive it the next week or so before I get the wires switched back?

You will be okay to run it the way it is temporarily until you can clean your up or you can send them back to me. I'll strip the adhesive backed shrink, buff the lugs, and re-install new shrink wrap for a small fee.I would like to see you use a corrosion inhibitor when you re-install the cables.

Thanks Scottyb!

Yes, it was my fault for not using the corrosion inhibitor in the first place, I was too interested in slamming the pedal down and flying! haha...

How can I send them back to you and let you clean them. Let me know, I think I would like for you to do it, a couple of the corrosion areas got near or under the wrap.

Should I send them to the address on your website? and include a note?

Corrosion under the wrap is my fear. Shoot me a PM and I'll give you the address.
