Pot from DCS in a Series cart
I am installing the pot box on Sonny (2003 txt series) today. The one that came with the replacement frame is from a (pre 2001.5) DCS cart (runtow switch/ fr tween legs).
I think i saw that i can use the ITS for the DCS on the series, i will just need to recalibrate it. Is this correct? Are the callibration steps in the service manuel? What about the MS from the DCS cart? I can just reuse it correct? I know the parts from my old frame work, they are just in much worse condition than the parts from the donor cart. Sonny should be a roller by the weekend. (if i can ever kick this hangover!!) |

Re: Pot from DCS in a Series cart
sorry about the hangover! the ms #25861-go1 and that its #28454-go1 showw to be both the same for a dcs and series cart. you should be good to go. don't know of any way to calibrate the its, other than the gap, and it would be the same on both. you can us a 7/32 drill bit to set the gap between the end of the plunger and the its.

Re: Pot from DCS in a Series cart
The test specs are different between the PDS(DCS) and Series ITS. But the controller sets the operating parameters for the ITS signal. The unit is the same, same gap adjustment, and timing is the same.
I have adjusted the timing of the micro switch activation and the adjusted the gap but I have not 'recalibrated' one. You should be okay just putting it in and running it. |

Re: Pot from DCS in a Series cart
WiltZ,
I just finished converting a DCS cart to a series. I did not touch the pot box on the cart and it runs great. I was told that there is no difference between the DCS and series and should not need any adjusting. Good luck. |

Re: Pot from DCS in a Series cart
I did find one difference. The dcs pot uses a six pin connector the series a four pin. Wires are the same so just swap them to a four connector.
