Solenoid troubles
I have an '89 club car 36 volt with the v-glide and resister coils. It is stock with 18x8 off road tires. I use this for hunting. Here recently it has been going through solenoids. They have been stock replacements. I have used this cart for many years without this problem. What should I do? Will a hd solenoid solve this? If so what kind/how big?

Re: Solenoid troubles
Does it have 5 solenoids or just one? How much bigger are your tires compared to stock? They are probably putting strain on the stock solenoid...

Re: Solenoid troubles
It has one solenoid. Tires are same size as stock just knobby instead off tuff friendly. Have had tires on it for couple years with no problems. Before these tires I had tractor tread tires on it with no problem. Now I've had to replace solenoid twice n less than two months. Will a hd solenoid solve my problem.

Re: Solenoid troubles
A 200 amp 36v solenoid will hold up much better than the stock ones.

Re: Solenoid troubles
How does your solenoid fail? Does the coil open, do the contacts weld shut or the contacts won't close?

Re: Solenoid troubles
That's what I want to know. To me, just putting a bigger & better solenoid in is a lot like stick a 25 amp fuse in for a 10 amp that keeps blowing. What is the cause?

Re: Solenoid troubles
When it fails, the solenoid is stuck open.
