Default Controller blew

Controller started blowing capacitors. Man, that stinks for both the nose and wallet! Guess it's time to call Scottyb!

How old is that alltrax controller?
What do you think caused the failure?

Any time i change a controller, i pull and inspect the motor to be sure that the motor didn't cause the failure. Yep, dead alltrax has a very distinct smell. When a cart comes in with a dead alltrax, i can usually tell before i even look at the cart.

Good idea. I better pull and inspect!

Now I've got to decide between the SPM-48500 (10" case) or the SPM-48600 (14" case).
Has anyone fit the SPM-48600 in the stock location?

I have a cart with the baby Alltrax dcx 330 I think, and I suspect it may be the reason I am using my spare cart. Or at least trying to. I cleaned the cables for the first of years plat and then she went about ten to fifteen feet then jerked and quit. But I had no smell, is that inheirent on all of the failures? My controller is a 06 or 07 model controller on a 06 cart.

Hugger,
You need to start your own thread - so someone can help you and this guy separately.

I HATE it when things die an early death. I HATE it even more if I can't figure out why it died.

This is really driving me nuts. Whats causing the caps to blow?

How was it driving before the caps took a dump? (why do they need so many capacitors in the controller anyway?)

Is your pre-charge resistor still good?

WHY DID IT DIE?
