Default Anyone using White Rogers 586 Solenoid on 400 A Controller?

I am looking to upgrade my controller on my 1998 CC DS 48V with 3.75 hp motor. I am looking at the Alltrax 4844 controller. Would the WR 586 be a good solenoid to use? If not what are ya'll running in your carts?

Thanks,

Charles T.

Charles, Alltrax lists the W/R 586 as recommended with their 400 amp controllers. I am using them but I am not a fan of the large terminal locations.... For simplicity I would use an equal solenoid with side posts. I have been finding a need to upgrade the battery to solenoid and solenoid to controller cables to 4 ga.

I have some in stock ... their ratings are good & they are the same configuration as the originals... I'm going to give them a try

I was concerned that we were sending more jobs to China when you recommended the new Chinese manufactured solenoid but Googled the White/Rogers and find its made there too!

White Rodgers 586-120111 Solenoid, SPNO, 48 VDC Isolated Coil, Normally Open ... Solenoid Valve Coil (Solenoid Valves) is made in Ningbo, Zhejiang, China

Seems that is what I'm going to use then. I found some "Chinese" 400A contactors, but decided against them if the W/R was a good choice. I did see that the W/R was made in China too, but at least it is a domestic company. I already made my 4 ga welding cables with crimped AND soldered lugs. It took 33' of cable and 24 lugs to make. $60 bucks my cost! ouch.

I picked up a WR 586 yesterday and it had MEXICO label on it? Maybe because we are so close to Mexico thats what is being shipped in?? At one time last year WR literature listed USA made at one price, Mexico listed as a little cheaper, but at that time NO China built? When I picked up my 586 the shop had Chinese built NO BRAND solenoids that he was trying to unload at 1/2 WR costs because he said there were too many problems with them??
