Re: Factory voltage reducer?
That's what I am thinking, If we can get a pic of the batt compartment we will be able to tell.

Re: Factory voltage reducer?
I have 8v batteries, I will try to get a pic for you tomorrow and get it posted on here, but if it is an aftermarket kit I would think that I would be blowing bulbs the way it is wired up the bulbs would be getting 16v and while that may work for a while I would have thought that the bulbs would burn out over time. I appreciate all the help. It may be some kind of aftermarket kit I bought the cart used, was thinking it was factory cause it looks the same as the one on my friends cart and his is factory. Will post pics tomorrow. Thanks again.

Re: Factory voltage reducer?
actually an 1156 (taillight) bulb will handle 18 volts without issue, same with the headlight bulbs (especially if it has the H3 bulbs in it). Remember that most of the lighting technology comes from the automotive industry and in a car, the Alternator will output much higher than just 12 volts......

Re: Factory voltage reducer?
I finally got smart and put my voltohm meter on it. It is a 16v system for the lighting I can now stop my hunt for the voltage reducer. Must have been having a brain fart should have thought of testing it first. Thank you guys for all the replies guess I will have to break down and by a voltage reducer.
