Default 88 2 cycle ezgo exhaust bolts

i have lost the bolts that attach the exhaust pipe to the motor. the pipe starts at the motor and ends at the muffler. everthing is okay but the bolts have fill out. i need to know what size bolts i need. it looks like there are 2.

hot rod: the book says that they should be studs not bolts.
"stud exhaust port MB X 1.25/ 5/16+-18 UNC 2A"
and "nut, hex, 5/8-18"hope this helps..
you can take this info to the hardware store (Lowe's /home-depot/ace) they should get you the right stud or bolt if you want to use bolts..

thanks walt-rate you are right they are studs so mbx1.25/ 5/16+-18 unc 2a is the right stud for this. or is it 5/8-18" stud. how long is the stud?

If I 'm right the 5/16-18 is the stud, and the 5/8-18
is the nut side. if you use bolts I think the can only get 1.5" not the 1.25".. If you use the 1.5" bolt just add some washers on the out side. make sure you use locktite "blue"

The nut will be the same size as the stud.
Yes, it's 5/16 x 18 stud and nut. the wrench size is 1/2" the two studs are 1.250 long.

Hot Rod just stand by I'm going to solve your problem today as I have a 85 2pg apart now and I'm going to get the studs today.I checked the bolts that were in the exh with a standard nut and they are metric so don't force a 5/16X18 stud in there I'll post after finding the correct studs. I'm not saying yours may be standard but just try to install a 5/16 course bolt by hand not wrench if it goes easy OK if not it's metric. Stay tuned!!!

Mystery solved The stud size is 8mmX1.25 and the length is1 1/4 long be sure to pickup some nuts while you there. Put a bit of blue loctite on the studs when installing then jum the stud with 2 nuts and secure in the cyl. When installing the pipe loosely fit it and start the nut with the least amount clearance pushing the pipe up as you go then install the other nut. (LOCK WASHERS RECOMMENDED) and your good to go. Hope it helps
