Angry Yamaha Gas Cart

I Have a 89 Yamaha G2 I believe !Im blowing the main fuses by the voltage regulator I seen it blow both .Just one or the other If I Unplug the voltage regulator it doesn't figured I just had a dead short somewhere but can't visually see anything .Just wondering if anybody had any advise on want to check first?

I don't remember how to troubleshoot that would have to look it up, but first make sure no accessories (like lights) are wired to the frame for a ground....frame is not ground unless you make it ground and will blow fuses. Check all ground wires to the engine and generator a bad connection will cause problems, as will a battery post. Wiring problems do crop up on yamahas otherwise they are a great cart mostly.

Welcome also! I agree with sho305, if you have lites ect, take the ground right back to the battery and install 20 amp fuses. Good luck

Thanks for the help I did have my lights grounded to the frame and after sitting down and reading some of the threads i see thats a problem with the yamaha and i found a wire coming out of the starter that had a bad spot in it was hard to see.Not sure which one fixed it but not blowing fuses anymore
