Default yamaha gas cart

I'm new to the carting world, I just restored a 93 marathon, and I'm looking at buying a 97 gas yamaha, but know nothing about them as far as what model it is, how good the motors are ect. I would think being a yamaha engine they would be great...any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

From reading some other posts, I'm assuming a 97 is a g16?

Yes, its a g16, as long as you sure on the year. Excellent carts, reliable engines and lots of aftermarket parts available. Definitely recommend!

Good to know you guys feel this way, cause I sealed the deal today, haven't picked it up yet, I bought it sight unseen, other than pics, but the guy seems to be straight up, it's got a 6inch jakes lift, lights, and backseat, what do you guys think would be a fair price? Just wondering if I got a good deal.

Depending on its condition, and the quality of the mods done to it, in my area I'd say 2500-2800.

From what I've seen I think I done good, but I know it's going to need a little bigger, and better tires and wheels, probably go with 10" wheel and 22" tires, but I wanted to buy one cheap enough to fix it up like I want it.
