I believe the reason VC wants you to use a cvtech06 in the ezgo is due to the high spring pressure in the ezgo secondary. I've owned several ezgo txts and they all have tight secondary clutches and backshifting is sometimes inconsistent if they are not setup correctly and in good operating condition. I have used a 780 with an ezgo and built 20hp vanguard without any issues though.
