Default Charger Plug Types

So I have an 2004 36v EZGO that is used for security to patrol a 50 acre site. It gets a lot of use with some pretty steep grades, all pavement, but used about 6-10 hours a day 7 days a week.
Over the past year I have burned through 3 Powerwise Connectors. Either the plug or the connector on the cart. I have replaced the wires, upgraded to 8 ga cables, and tried different brands. The batteries are about 18 months old, and receive regular maintenance. The common issue has been the small plastic ring around the + cable has melted or fallen off, then causing a short between the contactors.
This week I installed the older Crows Foot Connector and plug as I find that it is much easier to plug in, using way less force and can't be done incorrectly. So far the plug and connector haven't heated up at all, but still in the testing phase, watching the charger and checking for heat and not leaving plugged in overnight.

Question is: What are the advantages and disadvantages of all the Different Plug styles? Is there a reason for the Powerwise connection being used on EzGos or does it really not matter. I don't really like the Powerwise connector, as the plug needs to lineup perfectly or you are moving them around, risking a short or forcing the plug and possibly not making a perfect alignment of the contactors.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Default Re: Charger Plug Types

It really doesn't matter what plug you use as long as you always plug in the proper charger.
