Default G1 doesn't shut off

Hi, it's been a few years since I've been on here. Several years ago I bought a G 1 and had lots of trouble getting the bugs out of it and you all helped me a lot, thanks. It's ran great for years, now and all of a sudden it doesn't die when I let off of the accellerator pedal, it just idles and keeps moving. I checked the throttle linkage, and it's closing all of the way. Is there a kill switch on the accellerator pedal that could be bad?? What should I be looking for to make it work right?? Thanks, Chris

Is it shutting off with the key switch?

yes, turning the key is the only way to stop it. I had the cover open and on blocks. It set there and idles with the wheels turning.

The switch under the pedal serves a dual function. When released, it grounds the ignition circuit killing the spark. When pressed, it routes power through the ignition switch to the FWD or REV solenoid. Sounds like your switch is stuck or defunct? The switch is normally pushed in and extends upon pedal depression, so it may be AFU...
