g9 engine pumping gas out of top of motor

just picked this up have no background on it,starts and runs but pumping something out to of what i think is the valve cover on top of cyl head,auction description said it needs a carb any help out there?

If the carb is missing then yes it will pump fuel out the fuel hose when cranked

no it runs and has a carb,the finned cover on top of motor is spitting out the nipple that points straight up

Can you send a picture? Sounds like it may be the oil line... theres a nipple that is supposed to have a hose on it that feeds oil to the head. Yes it will make an incredible mess if the hose is gone. And if the float bowl needle does not seat properly, fuel can leak down into the cylinder, passing the rings and fill the oil with fuel/oil mix.

But without a picture as to exactly what you are talking about, that's really just throwing a dart in the dark.

Sounds like the engine may be full of fuel from the carb leaking/bypassing.. Check the oil for overfull and see if it smells like gas. If so, do not run. Fix carb issue and change oil! (Assuming it is a 4 stroke)..

the nipple is facing toward the frt of the cart and faces straight up,gonna order a carb today off ebay seen they were 20.00 are they any good

$20 China carbs suck. Get the oem Yamaha needle valve and repair your OEM carb.

X2–Mikuni is a far better unit. It is able to be rebuilt like new.

Agreed 1000%. Mine came with one of those $20 Chinese "mokini" pieces of junk. Luckily they had the original crusty nasty one in the front pocket. Cleaned out the original and just stole the plastic cable attachment pieces off the top of the Chinese one and out them in the OEM one (OEM one plastic pieces were busted up pretty bad). Runs great. Never ran worth squat with that Chinese one.

Is it the nipple I circled in pink or yellow?
