Here's what i'm looking at. So the tan wire of the reducer to the yellow key switch wire? Both are white, one has a yellow stripe on it.

My memory fail me and my drawing earlier was wrong. My pigtail is attached to the green wire at the back of the switch. Hooked up this way the reducer has power when the key is on. The red and black wires are for my headlight switch

Your best bet is to do like Scotty is saying and use your meter. Find out which wire has what, at what point, relative to the switch.

You guys were right. Trigger wire goes to the white wire with the yellow stripe. Also, I had the red/ white wires reversed in my picture.
