Default Retractable cord for onboard chargers

Do any of you guys use retractable cord reels mounted on your carts for use with on board charger? I am interested in possibly mounting a 25' retractable reel. Just wondering where you guys mounted them. Pictures would be awesome too! Looking to add Lester summit 2 on board charger. The manual for that charger says it pulls 8 amps. 14awg cord should work fine for this. Was thinking of mounting the reel in the bagwell area under neither the rear seat...

I understand most off the shelf cord reels will be opposite of what I would be needing. I have new hubbel male and female plug ends to reverse them so the male end is on the pull side.

Here is a thread with another idea:

More pictures on post # 17, just make sure you unwind the power cord all the way when charging to prevent heat build up in the reel.

And be certain the wire gauge is acceptable for the draw and length of the cord.

I only want a 25-30' cord. 14awg is good for around 13 amps at this length. Charger draws 8amp from data sheet I read on your site. Would look for 12awg reel if I decide to go the 1050 watt route- that draws 12amps from what i can find online..

I had one setup just like you describe.. It really was more of a pain than useful at least for me. When pulling the cord out it didn't always want to hold or would release by itself sometimes if someone bumped the cord. The latter would get interesting if the cord was around anything because of the end whipping around.. Mine always gets charged in the same place and my charger is mounted in the bagwell so I just back it up to the wall to charge..

I don't think I'd want it bouncing around with the cart all the time.

At pretty much every golf club I ever worked at (6), the chargers were on a shelf directly above the carts.

I wouldn’t go that route but have a receptacle the extension cord plugs like where your old charger plug was that way your not having to cut another hole in the body

That's my 2nd option if I can't find good solution to retractable cord...
