Default Solenoid with XCT500

Purchased an Executioner motor, XCT500, and 2g cable set from Plum Wuick. Parts arrived and the included solenoid is the Curtis/Albright SW180-93 which looks like it’s only rated for 200 amps. Will this solenoid work or did they send me the wrong one?

It will work but I think most of us would recommend the 400A solenoid for that setup...

Alltrax needs to get their poop in a pile. If you read their manual it should be fine. Read their schematic and no it should be 400amp. Your guess is as good as anyone’s giving their documents.

Call them and insist on a 400a.

Luke and everyone is correct. That should be a 400a with that setup. I have the same set up in my Lithium cart.

If you cal Robbie at PQ, he will make it right.....

And that was expensive thru them..... But you did get a pretty ring!! :o)

Didn't even get the ring! I've been bamboozled!

Oh, look on their website. They have been running that for several months. If you buy a motor/controller combo kit, you get a PQ ring. (It is actually a nice ring)

I’d happily settle for just the proper solenoid over the ring!

I figured I’d be paying more getting all my parts through them, but thought I’d be getting a little piece of mind ensuring that I got all the correct parts which would work properly together. So much for that.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I use this exact same setup on many of my builds, but always use a 400a solenoid with it.

I received the following message from Robby:

The SW180 has much larger contacts and while rated at 200 amps, will handle well over that. I run this same contactor pushing over 1,000 amps.
