G1 Lift kit from All Sports
I just recently purchased a 4 inch lift kit from All sports. Does anyone have any pictures of the front installed? The directions that came with it are horrible and photocopied and you cant see the picture. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Re: G1 Lift kit from All Sports
Ok major problem now.
I got the lift on, but when I went to run it , it wouldnt move. I finally figured out that the clutch is hitting the frame. Has anyone had a similar problem and how can I fix it? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Jeremy |

Re: G1 Lift kit from All Sports
I have seen where guys have hammered the frame tube for clearance and I've seen guys cut a section out of the tube and weld in an offset.

That's what I was afraid of hearing. I didn't see any other way than that myself. Was hoping for a miracle answer lol.
Thanks |

Re: G1 Lift kit from All Sports
Well I'm a dumbass.. I accidentally broke my motor mounts on my G1. Does anyone have any for sale? They were rusted a little bit. I might be able to weld them back together but figured I would ask first.
Thanks |

Re: G1 Lift kit from All Sports
I just finished up putting one of these 4"lift kits on my 83 G1. If I hadnt found this thread with pics I'd still be in the shop. AllSports directions are worthless. This was my first so I had no experience to fall back on. Once I saw decent pics it all made sense. Now that Ive installed one I could do this in a couple of hours. Wouldnt be too hard to fab my own. Installed 20" tires on 10 " wheels. Big enough for what I am doing. Looks nice.
Thanks BGW. By the way No frame modification required. Last edited by oldtimer; 03-01-2009 at 07:26 PM.. Reason: Added info |

Re: G1 Lift kit from All Sports
i lifted a g-1 and i heated the frame with torch and bent a spot inward .it worked but it was a little rigged and i plan on cutting out a spot and welding it the right way at some pont in time

Re: G1 Lift kit from All Sports
I want to reroute the throttle cable yet as it is tighter than I would like. Absolutely no frame clearance issues on this cart. Next to fabricate bumpers and maybe add abasket or 2.
I am also thinking about adding wheel spacers for a slightly wider stance. Will that cause clearance problems between the front tires and the body when making tight turns? I am guessing it will but thought I would get an opinion here. 2" billet spacers seem to be pretty common and pricier then I thought they should be. |
