converting an older resistor to newer electronic

OK. On my quest to get as many carts for the camp I work at. I just got a old club car. I would like to know were the serial # would be. Then I could get a year. Then I would like to know who might have striped out the old electrical an put in a newer system? What would the most economical system? Like I said, I just got it and seeing if it is worth the conversion.

I would think the least expense would be about $1400.00, if not more, unless you can get a lot of used parts!

The most economical system is of course the one it came with
You can find the serial # under the dash where the floor meets the passenger side glovebox...... Give us that # and we can tell what yr and what drive system you have...

I have look all over for the # but could not find any. So. I took some photos. I love the look of the body. I hope to get this working as soon as I can get batteries for it. I do not know what voltage it is. 24/36/48? I understand how to wire these voltages. I use large batteries for my home. Seeing I have a house that runs of solar.

You sure did get an OLD club Car! It's a Caroche model, probably from the later 70's . It would most likely be a 36 volt unless someone has changed it. I have a Royal Ride that was built on the same Caroche frame with the hydraulic brakes like yours. Mine was a 5 solenoid setup that I just changed out to a motor controller with pot switch.
If it's still there, the tag will be on top of the frame under the drivers seat in the battery compartment. Mine was missing so I have no idea what year it is.

Thanks for the info. I was just looking at yours. The kids at the camp would love to see that running threw. I will look for the tag.

yip its a caroche lol 74-80 36 volt the VIN would have been under the drivers side on the frame. looks like its in origanel shape even down to the ajustable seats .

I will look for the tag. What would the date look like? The frame looks like aluminum. I really like the shape of the body. I think, I can make a great top on it. Yes, it is all original.I can not wait to afford the batteries. I think this will be a fun maintenance cart.

on the 74 and up the VIN is just a metal plate on top of the I beam under the drivers side . if not there look where the floor meets the glove box there is a bar that may have it stamped on it .if its there then its early 70-73 if i where you i'd try to save the origanal seats most of us don't have them because someone changed them .if your looking for parts for top heres a number to junkyard that has parts for caroches 1 800 262 6861 .on mine someone put the seat from a DS on it so i was able to retro fit DS roof on .let me know what you do
