Charger or batteries
1st time buyer. I came across a 1992 club car in really good condition for $400. The carts been sitting since Jan with the charger plugged in the garage. The charger did not appear to be on and the battery meter in the cart was on low. I plugged it back in and the needle on the charger did not move. How can you tell if the charger is working or even turning on. Would the batteries be bad.
Just trying to figure if its worth the money if I have to replace those things. I want to do the usual stuff, lift kit, tires and add some speed. Thanks |

Re: Charger or batteries
For $400 it would be worth it even if you throw away the batteries and charger. You can pick up a used charger if you need for about $100, and then $600 for new batteries and you'd be good to play with your project.
Unplug the charger, and see if it runs. |

Re: Charger or batteries
If it is a 92 48 volt charger it probably has a OBC which means the 48 volt batteries need to be above 36 Volts for the charger to turn on.
Good Luck , New batteries $500-$700 new charger $300-$400 So U could have $1400.00 in it, just to move . Ask them to at least Guarentee the charger ! |
