Default club car wiring 3rd click before taking off

I have a 1987 club car when I press the gas pedal I hear 2 clicks and then on the 3 it takes off. Is it a solenoid promlem or???

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 1987 club car.

Welcome to bgw!
Your problem is a bad solenoid. It is the second one in from the driver's side .... replace with a Club Car OEM solenoid.

Diagrams are in the stickies at the top of this section for the 5 solenoid system.

It also doesn't seem to have much top end speed could it be another solenoid. how can you check a solenoid? I read that you could check continuity.

With the cart on blocks you should hear each one of the 5 solenoids click .... The one furthest to the driver's side is the master next to it is 1st gear then 2nd etc.... Sounds like you ready for a whole set. If you have Digital Voltmeter you can check and see the activation circuit is working and if the solenoid has continuity when the activation circuit is complete .... otherwise just replace them

FAQs and info you can find at the top af any section like electric club car.....
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/electric-club-car/

Your system is actually a sort of complicated way of primitive funtions
They work well for 25-30 yrs then the solenoids wear out.... 99% of the time that is it... Sometimes a microswitch?
