Re: Where is the fuse for the Headlights?
Ok. Here is a couple of pics of the fuse box. I followed the wires out and here is what I found. Red cable from Battery to Fuse box. Yellow wire to Light switch, Blue wire out of light switch to both head lights, Black wire coming from lights to a common post for ground wires in dash. That post then connects to another post in the battery area. From that post the wires continue to a block mounted on the frame of the cart (I have no idea what it is -see pic). Then the black wire runs out to the controller I believe. From this controller, the black wire then goes to the neg on the 6th battery.
One thing I did try that seemed to work is put the Red wire at the begining of this series on to the second to last battery and this improved the lights, horn and rear lights dramatically. Is that ok? I don't think I have the converter. |

Where would the harness be? Not sure I would know what a relay looks like.

Re: Where is the fuse for the Headlights?
I did not see it on the wires runining to and from the lights and fuse box. What is the long narrow thing in my pic that is attached to the frame?

Re: Where is the fuse for the Headlights?
OK I don't think you have a coverter either. Are you dealing with 6v or 8v batteries. Count the caps (cells) on a batt. It is 2v per cell. Now with the red wire where it is count the caps (cells) between the red wire hookup and the black wire hook up you have described. If you have 3 caps per battery for a total of 6 caps you are running on 12v if you have 4 caps per Battery for a total of 8 between wire hookups you are running on 16v. This shouldn't be a problem. If everything is ok now & looking back over the posts it sounds like the red wire was on wrong hook up to begin with.

Radical-HE-- yes, I saw the pic I think you may be right but is he reducing the full Batt. pac to 12v?? Are we dealing with 36v or 48v??

Re: Where is the fuse for the Headlights?
Possibly.... Or he has the reducer that hooks to the controller! At least thats how they say to hook it up but I never do. I believe thats a 48v cart judging by the plug on the cart.

Re: Where is the fuse for the Headlights?
OK-with 48V he says "the redwire goes from Battery to light switch. If he has a reducer I think the red wire goes through converter then to switch. It now sounds like the gadget on the frame only has the black (neg) wire going through it. If I have his wires figured out per last post he is now using two batts. for 16 V to his light switch. I'm getting dizzy , I think I'll have a beer!!
