36V CC expectations

I currently have a 96 Gas CC with clone 16hp, Long travel, 22" tires, steel cargo bed, and a few other little goodies. I say this because this is the only golf cart I have to compare to. I find myself wanting an electric cart and have access to a 36V non-regen CC. Of course, the gasser would have to go if the sparky shows up. What I'm wanting to know is what to expect from a 36V electric if I performed the following mods.....4Ga cables, 500ish amp controller, new batteries(needs em anyway), 6" lift and 22" tires. Would a cart built like this take two adults on some pretty hilly trails? Would it be comparable to my 96 gasser when it still had the stock 290cc engine that ran really nice. I know this is really reaching but any idea how many miles or hours/minutes of average riding these carts will provide on a charge. I'm really nervous about possibly selling the gasser and dumping my toy funds into something that may be a let down.

I have owned both of the carts you are comparing.....I drive off road. Usually solo cuz the mrs. hates the way I drive ...... Imagine that

....anyway..... my advice to you is simple. Do not do it. They are 2 different types of carts & the electric is better suited to an apartment complex and the gas is much better suited for the off road and hills.
Anyone who disagrees (including GB) can come on over here and go riding side by side ....... sooner or later you will be calling me to come back back

The more mods U add to a sparkey the less run time U get.
The more amps U pull the faster the batteries deplete.
whereas on gassers , just carry a gas can !

I think you can drive the gasser all day on less than a tank of gas. Try that with the sparky

I'm convinced. My dad may end up with it and use it for a yard cruiser. Sounds like it would handle that duty well.

Mostly electric carts are used in communities that have rules against gas carts. Most have level paved roads which are well suited for electric carts.

Then there are hunting carts. But most people that are using these carts aren't driving all day. They drive to the deer stand etc. sit there for hours then hop on the cart and drive it back to the house.

We take about 8 carts to ocean lakes during the summer. We have to use electric carts there due to the rules. And mostly the fun at night is ended when someones cart runs out of juice.
