Default New guy, 36V cc going faster in reverse

I am having a problem with my cc cart, I don't have the year but I know its an older one. it is a 36 V with the r coils and solenoids, no wiper. I have rewired the 1/2 reverse to a 36v point in conjunction with the forward 36v point. for some reason even though they are both wired at the same point the reverse is much faster than the forward. in reverse it does progressively get faster but the forward does not. I hear the solenoids switching over progressivly with the throttle. any Ideas?

Are U sure its not just perception. 35-40 in reverse feels like 45-50 forward.
