Re: 36 to 48 volt kit??????
We have to know what you are building and what you want to do with it?
Tire size? Terrain? Load Carrying? Expected run time? Before we could answer your questions...... |

Re: 36 to 48 volt kit??????
My 89 cart has the resister/v-glide system. When buying the parts to do this upgrade, what year model should I order for, since an 89 is not listed in anything I have found. I mainly want to do this to get rid of the resister coils and v-glide so I can lift it with no worries. Not planning to convert to 48 volt right now but want parts that will work for 48 volts when I do.

Just stripped out all the old wiring, resistors and v-glide today. Along with pulling everything off the frame first.. I'm using the Alltrax 500 AMP controller with PB-6 throttle. Here is a good diagram for your reference. Pay no attention to the year. This will give you a good idea of the solenoid, resistor, diode, & fuses needed for the different amps. Again, just as a reference. You can also visit Alltrax's web site and get a great deal of information even if you do not use their controller. |

Re: 36 to 48 volt kit??????
I am not sure you CAN run a 48v solenoid on 36v without damage. That deserves some research I think you wait and collect the parts you need until you are ready to make the conversion. I have converted 2 1989 CCs to 48v, both turned out nice but I don't see a way to do a partial.... The stock resistor system is entirely different than the new system you are going to install. I can't think of a part which is common to both, not even a cable. your old system uses 6v batteries with posts on opposite sides. the 8v have posts on the same side. Cable lengths will not be the same ...... buy the parts and convert when you are ready.....
Buy a 48v charger Buy a Curtis pb-6 Buy a 400a 48v Solenoid Buy a voltage converter for lights Buy cable and lugs Finally buy Batteries I hope this helps? Don't think you can install just the controller or just the PB-6 .... It is a system and you need all the stock parts or all the new system parts....... see what I mean? |

goodolboy here is a useful chart
http://www.alltraxinc.com/files/Doc1...bined-Spec.pdf tells U wire sizes, solenoid type, resistor, diode, F/R ...etc. depending on 400Amp or 500 Amp. |
