Charging
I have a shed where i store my golf cart it is about 125 ft away from power if i charge at garge then drive to shed that should be fine no more power i would use should not hurt battery but what gauge extension cord should i get to charge in the winter and is once a month ok in winter storage to charge?

Factors
Conditions - Normal Extension cord material - Copper Extension cord gauge - 16 120 Volts 1 pahse 1/2 circuit length in feet - 62.5 Load - 15amps Estimated voltage drop would be 9.2 volts Voltage at circuit end would be 110.8 volts |

At 125 ' you want to have a 20 amp circuit when you get there. You need to start from a designated 20 amp outlet.... meaning nothing else is on it. A garage or outside outlet will usually provide the amperage needed...Use a #10 wire for that length. You find these cords in the construction industry 100' long. And yes, once a month should be good enough.

Thanks like i say during summer i will just charge it at gargae and then drive it to shed that should be fine?????????? i will not use much power from battery just wanted to make sure because i know you should never not charge after running but just for a 100 feet i would think i would be fine

I disconnect batteries when I put mine up for the winter, and then charge when I get out in the spring.

I guess disconnecting the battery for winter storage must be the answer because I find that if I don't connect the charger periodically in the winter, the batteries in my farm equipment are discharged by spring. So I either trickle charge the batteries all winter or once a month or so, connect the charger to bring each battery up.
