Default 86 club car brakes

will be getting around to the brakes tomorrow. There is absolutely no braking what so ever. I did check out the cables and they are moving properly. What can I expect to run into when I tear into it. Was thinking I'd buy myself the classic thong to wear when I work on it.

Hotmamma set the standard for "thong cart mechanics" So, I'll let one of the smart folks answer about the brakes, and I'll just let you know that we need pics for the up and comming "Thong cart mechanics" thread

Have you looked at the brakes? If they are not metal to metal, you may not need brakes. If the brakes were adjusted at the cable always, then the brake adjustment was done wrong. On a 86, it is a manual adjustment on the shoes. If you have plenty of shoe left, make an adjustment on the top, back side of the brake backing plate, cresent wrench will work, give yourself alittle bit of drag, not much though.
