Hey, Thanks everyone for the great comments. Now I guess the next question is what batteries? I have heard the Trojan T890's are a great choice.

From what I can tell, going to eight 6 volt batteries will be a pretty big over haul making room for the batteries, new charger and new obc. I think I will do six 8 volt batteries and put in the ac motor system. Has anyone installed the ac system and have any experience with it?

Hey there I just completed a 6-6v's to 8-6v's and of the first charge has lasted a whole week of everyday day various terrain driving.
I'm pleased with the results. here's a pic of where I put them, right behind my seat backs.

As i stated in another post I scratched the 8 6volt batteries and decided to go with 6 8volt batteries and do the ac motor conversion.

Here is my current set up. Went and pulled some part numbers off my cart.

06 CC, 6" jakes spindle lift, alltrax 500DCX controller, Club Car GE D388 5.0 Non-Peak HP @ 2740 Rpms, 48 Volt, Higher Torque, (IQ - separately excited) DC Electric Motor, 23" ITP mud lites, intellitrack rearend

Will i benefit by going with the ac system and if so what controller should i use to keep torque and add run time and speed?

The AC system should come with a controller of it's own... You can't run an AC motor off of a DC controller.

Don't know... never messed w/ AC... I would imagine. But I'm just saying they're not compatible with DC.
