Type of lift recommendation
I have a 2005 club cart. I am planning to lift it but despite reading many different types of comparisons. I am not sure what type of lift is best for what I am doing. I ride my cart mostly at campgrounds, sometimes in a little off roading such as fields and woods. The kids drive it more than I do. I also will be putting a flip flop seat on the back for passengers if that matters suspension wise. I am leaning towards the drop spindle 6 inch lift kit because it seems to be the easiest install and durable enough for what I do. I am not opposed to the A Arm or drop axle. Any suggestions?

Re: Type of lift recommendation
Is the stock suspension TIGHT? A spindle lift will exploit any slop in the steering. Mine wasn't and it was less expensive for me to put a Jake's a arm kit than to rebuild the stock suspension and add a spindle lift.

It is pretty tight. The cart was rarely driven when I got it a year ago. It was well taken care of.

I do the same kind of driving you do, and I chose to go with a double A-arm kit 4 years ago. Spindle lifts are ok for light driving but if you have kids driving it (and driving it off-road), they might be rough on it. Drop spindles can break if they're pushed too hard.

Re: Type of lift recommendation
A arm lift for sure. I would only consider the spindle lifts for a street only cart, even then i think i would go a arm lift.
And dont waste $ on the cheap ebay a arm lift, its a total pile of junk. The allsports super sport a arm lift is the best bang for the buck as i see it. |

I used a Jake's. Decent metal thickness and very good welds. Grease zerks would have been good though.

Re: Type of lift recommendation
Thanks for the feedback. After riding with my youngest daughter on the cart today, I learned that apparently bumps in a field don't need to be slowed down for. So with that in mind, I think I will go with the A arm, probably Jakes. Thanks again for all the help.
