Club car backfires
2001 club car backfired and has loss power uphill. It engages rev limiter as soon as you start to go uphill then backfires.I have read you can disable rev limiter by disconnecting ground wire.where is rev limiter

The Limiter is below the valve cover but above the oil drain plug.The ground wire is the brown wire that is right next to the engine oil fill tube.

Your drive clutch isn't working properly. It's getting stuck and the engine is over-revving trying to start out. When going uphill the clutch isn't opening properly which causes the loss of "power".
Time for a rebuild or replacement if the sheaves are worn. I'd recommend rebuilding the driven clutch as well while you're at it. If the drive clutch is worn out the driven clutch is worn out too. |
