making the engine start and idle
hi everyone, ive seen carts that have the key swtich that cranks the cart over and starts it. It acts just like a car when you turn the switch and it starts and it dosnt shut off....yes that does sound confusing but has anyone seen anything like that before?

Re: making the engine start and idle
here are the instructions for doing it that I copied from a earlier post.
So to undo it you would do the reverse :)) It's really simple! and It's not my idea... Tom @ CPP told me about it! (Note: I don't know if this works for PRE-1992 Club Cars!) Put your cart in maintenance mode, chock the wheels... and the key off! In the engine compartment, There is a black plastic box, just below the drivers seat! Remove the one hex screw, and then the cover for the box, You'll see the voltage regulator, two micro switches, a single 10 amp fuse, and a bunch of wires! Go to the micro switches... wipe the dirt off of the micro switch wires (without disconnecting them) There should be only one solid black wire... (I think it's on the bottom micro switch) Disconnect the solid black wire ONLY! (pedal kill circuit) and set the wire off to the side, (inside the box) and reinstall the cover! You are now ready to adjust your idle! Again... with the cart in maintenance mode, and the wheels chocked, Turn the key on, push the "GO" pedal to start it... and adjust your idle up just high enough so the drive belt is just about ready to turn (if the drive belt turns too much, the cart will "creep" while idling!) Turn the key off to shut it down, set the brake, take the cart out of maintenance mode, and remove the wheel chocks. Test drive (start and stop) to make sure it won't stall or creep... and adjust if needed! Your cart will now start with the pedal... idle... and shut off with the key! |

Re: making the engine start and idle
Yep but after it starts it continues to run,
to do it with a key would require a different key arrangemnt and move the foot pedal wiring to the key (some how). |

Re: making the engine start and idle
My 2011 Precedent doesn't have this black box that all the instruction I have seen so far keep referring to?
