help with Keyswitch wiring for stereo install
Hello Guys, I'm about to install a stereo in the dash of my EZGO ST 2+2.
My plan is to connect the stereo's red power wire and the yellow memory wire to the appropriate terminals on the keyswitch. (then I will run a ground straight to the battery) Question #1 is: Does that sound like the right way to do it? (if not, please advise on the best way to wire it) Question #2 is: Which keyswitch terminals to use?? I have the 4 spade keyswitch with terminals labeled L, I, B, and B1. I bought the service manual and still cant figure out which terminals are which. I know the L terminal is for the lights........ Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance. |

Re: help with Keyswitch wiring for stereo install
You have a 36v and 12v switch in your switch.
B= Battery pack positive (36 or 48v) mostly blue I = ignition, usually green, goes to peddle box micro B1 = 12v positive feed for lights L = you figured this one out |

Re: help with Keyswitch wiring for stereo install
Did you get this sorted out? On my 2000 4 stroke, the battery power first goes through the micro switch on the pedal and then to the key. When the pedal is not depressed, there it no power at the key. I reversed the wiring down by the solenoids to make the power first go through the key then through the pedal switch. This allowed me to rig up brake lights that will go off, when I have the parking brake set but turn off the key, and I wired a radio in much like you are. What year is your cart?

The yellow wire which is your memory you do not want to wire to the key switch, you will loose all of your programming each time. The red wire can go there, but the yellow needs to go to a constant power source. Make sense? |

If you have a cigerette light that be a good power source for the yellow wire
