RIGHT my 87 has the same engine with cover and same muffler starter/gen and all.

OPPS governor on yours is still hooked up and no throttle spring something to look at. Have you got rid of the injector and mixing gas 128:1 1 oz per gallon? Just a thought!!!

the govenor on mine isnt hooked up, and i took the oil resevoir out cuz it wasnt hooked up either. i dont even see a port for the oil feed line to plug into on the carb. so i just took the resevoir out and mixed my own fuel @ 40:1

the oil should be (128:1) not 40:1 using 40:1 will only smoke real bad and plug up your muffler with carbon and unburnt oil.. (128:1 is 1 ounce of oil to one gallon of gas) if you want you could use 1.5 ounces to one gallon if you wanted to use a little more oil....

ohhh ok, thats what that plug is for....... lol right on thanx for the help. it doesnt smoke at all and ive been running with that mix for about 4 days now. but oh well, id rather have it run too rich than too lean.
