want engine to keep running........
Is there a 'kit' I can buy to keep engine running when I release the gas pedal? I think I saw one on a website a few yrs ago, but lost it. Our E Z Go gives you whip lash when we start out. Very jerky.
Thanks in advance! |

Re: want engine to keep running........
If a whip lash start is the only reason that you are doing this then you are curing the symptom not the disease. The probability is that the spring in your clutch is worn and causing it to snap shut.
Ironically the kit to keep your cart running would involve shorting out the throttle switch and using a higher pressure spring to keep the clutch open at low revs. That said you could jack up the cart and gently and observe the actions of the two clutches as you gently increase the revs. The clutch on the engine should slowly close and at the same time the one on the axle slowly open. If either clutch act erratically you have your suspect without disabling the throttle switch which is a safety feature. Dave |
