YDRA Gas runs only on the choke
I stored this cart for the summer and when I got it out it will only run on the choke. Have done all the normal stuff, changed the gas, checked that the fuel pump was working, emoved and cleaned the carb, jet float etc. but still runs only with full choke. Any suggestions?

Re: YDRA Gas runs only on the choke
Is the air box sealed correctly? Having to choke it is a sign of it getting too much air. The carb spacer could have a crack in it. Install a fuel shut-off valve and run it outta gas when you store it.

Did you clean the little bitty holes on the left?

Re: YDRA Gas runs only on the choke
yes i blew them out but no change so am now soaking in carb cleaner. Is this a normal place to clog up?? Not that familiar with this carb but it looks similar to an emusion tube. I fiqured that it has to be lack of fuel as opposed to an air leak.

Re: YDRA Gas runs only on the choke
Pluck a strand of wire from a wire brush and use it to clean those little holes and the jet center. They are very fussy about varnish and need some friction to break it looose so your cleaner will work.

Re: YDRA Gas runs only on the choke
This is a common problem with these ethanol blended fuels. I had similar problems with several of my small engines. I make sure to use Sta-Bil when I'm storing gas for any length of time, and I run the carb dry if I know that the engine will not be used for a few months. I also try to run my cart every week or so, even over the winter so the fuel won't sit in the carb for long.
