G2 Secondary
Hi all.
Looking for some help with my secondary clutch. It's stuck in the "open" position and I can't seem to close it. The cart is up at the camp, so I have no pics right now. Any help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance. Scott |

Re: G2 Secondary
Sounds like it needs taken apart, cleaned up and greased.

Thanks for the reply. Does it need a puller to take the sheaves off, or should they just pop off? I've looked on YouTube with no real success.

Re: G2 Secondary
Yeah you'll need the puller. I'd spend the bucks on the real tool for the job. I'm sure it can be done another way, but I've heard of guys breaking the outer sheave. Don't cut corners on this one.

Re: G2 Secondary
Belt still stuck on there? I would pull the cap off the front clutch & see whats going on in there (just as likely the cause of your troubles). What im saying is "is the rear clutch the problem, or the symptom of front clutch problems?"

Re: G2 Secondary
Soak that think with penetrating oil. Get the torch out and warm up the sheave. Spray it some more. Let it soak. Then try to pop it off.

Re: G2 Secondary
The outside is on a taper, you can use a steering wheel puller on it. It also has a key in it so don't lose it when it comes off, I recommend you leave the nut on a turn or two so it does not fly away on you. Once the taper pops then take it all off. Alternate way is get a 3/4 rod and 3lb, get under the rear bumper with the nut on a couple turns. Place rod on thick part between ramps on back of secondary with no belt on it. Hit a couple times then move to the next one....at your own risk be careful. It will pop loose after a while. Drive it out away from the trans, lean the rod close to the case.

Check out the "Sticky" posted by Spriddle, http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-y...tructions.html.
I used these instructions when I rebuilt mine and they worked great. I put in a kit from Plowman's, made a huge difference. Bogatzi |

Re: G2 Secondary
Sorry, forgot to add this. I did not need a puller. The sheave just slid off the shaft and the half moon key fell out on its own. I may have been lucky.
