Default Disc Brakes ??

Well my stock brakes just suck! Cart is a 1996 txt, 22' tires, gas we use in Ga. steep grades.
Time to up grade to disc, I think.

Whats your experience with disc brakes, type used, front, rear, both, mechanical or hyd. ?

Looks like the mechanical rear are the easiest to install, I don't know how much better then drum they will stop. The replacement pad seem expensive.

Hard to believe there is not much talk here about brakes with most having lifted and faster carts.

I use the Jakes front disc setup on my carts. They work great. I like to loosen the tension to the rear brakes so I can do the big burnouts and doughnuts.
Aaron has been telling me that Vegas Carts will have a disc brake option soon. You can be assured it will be high quality.

Thanks Brutal!

I had hoped for more response here so I could compare real use of different types of brakes.

Its not just me, My buddy just got a 2013 Yamaha that we put a lift and 23'' tires and the brakes on it are just ok under normal conditions. but if someone pulled out in front of one of his kids in the subdivision there would be a crash!! Upgrading the brakes is not even on his mind and he has about $7 grand in his cart.

Maybe I have just finally matured to the point of looking at safety ( I am 61 ) LOL,

Still find it hard to believe there are not many here running Disc brakes!
Most here put 1,000's in a cart but will not spend $300-$400 to make it stop!
