Default Re: Only starts when lightly pressed

I did a compression test and it took awhile to come up to 155 psi. longer than normal. Usually a few cranks and up the needle goes. This time it took almost double to build pressure. I guess the valves are sunk/shot. Thank you to everyone for their help.

So now the big question how hard is a rebuild kit? Is there one you recommend and is it even worth it on a 99 that has been beat up with worn tires shocks steering etc. Thanks again

Depends on your situation. Parts are a couple hundred bucks and a few hours time.

I'd weigh the cost of rebuilding your cart against the $8k for a new one. I'd rebuild it, it's all part of the fun :)

I would just remove the engine and replace the intake valves , cam seal and gaskets. Maybe throw a new timing belt being you already got it down. I will leave that up to you.
Head gasket
2- intake valves
cam seal and gasket
timing belt
If it did not smoke and use oil then just replace those valves and belt. I have did it more than once
