Re: 96 EZGO TXT gas sluggish start
The spark plug has more of an orange spark but a good spark. The engine did kick on when I sprayed the carb cleaner.
Would that be a carberator issue? |

Re: 96 EZGO TXT gas sluggish start
Very possibly. I'd start by removing the carb and give it a good cleaning. I'd also adjust the valves so that done. 99% of these carts that's all it takes to get them purring

Re: 96 EZGO TXT gas sluggish start
Ok, I installed a new fuel pump, fuel lines and filter, new carburetor, adjusted the valves, oil change/ filter, and siphoned out old gas. And this is the results on the above video. Help.. it seems worse.

Re: 96 EZGO TXT gas sluggish start
well It is running now and seems fine until we get to a hill. I think it may be a fuel issue but I put a new fuel pump in it. Should the fuel filter be filled with gas when running? It only seems like 1/2 - 3/4 of it has fuel in it.

Re: 96 EZGO TXT gas sluggish start
I have a TXT that is very bad at starting when it's cold. I read somewhere they usually suck at starting when it's cold. I know that doesn't fix your issue, but at least you aren't the only one. Don't drive yourself crazy if it's just warm blooded...
My fuel filter seems is the same way when it's running, don't think that is your issue. Did you try a compression check? Mine was also sluggish when going up a hill, i rebuilt the motor and it's good now. |

Re: 96 EZGO TXT gas sluggish start
If it runs good on flat ground but falls on its face when it gets to a hill it's usually just a worn belt. I'd start simple and dont overthink it.
And yes its normal for the fuel filters to not be full while running |
