The test light is on when i touch the pos on the coil, when i spin the engine the test light goes off and stays off, no flashing

I just swapped out the igniter, new coil, still no fire, it would have to be the pulser i would think, how do you set the air gap on the pulser, if i can find one, thanks for the help so far.

i also tested the pulsar coil with a meter, on ac volts with engine turning over it read .1 volts, on ohms scale it read 19.8 and according to manual i downloaded it should read 450.06 to 500 something does this sound right, thanks

Sounds like you found a bad pulser coil.

I would gap it about the thickness of a buisness card. Just check it out befor rebolting the cover back on. Use a continuity meter to check signal confirmation as the flywheel turns and to make sure there is no contact. Let us know how it goes.

great info. having a similar prob. does anyone know the correct ohms for a 89 epg? two different pulsers read 155-156. does this sound about right? jim
