Moaning Plumquick
Anyone have issues with Plumquick IQ motors making a moaning noise?
I've had two that tend to moan. The one I just installed tends to moan quite a bit at full throttle. It's on an IQ with a stock controller. Any idea what is causing this? |

Sinker does it when I first step on the gas, but after that it does not do it again, just figured that was the way it was. |

Re: Moaning Plumquick
On mine I would agree, its a purple motor running with resistors, but that is in the works, slowly but surely. It will take me as long as it did Flint to get parts for his BB

Re: Moaning Plumquick
It is common to get a high-pitched whine and more so at full throttle.........that sound is the brushes breaking in with the commutator. If everything else is OK and the motor is not getting too hot, that sound should reduce over time, but if you think something is wrong give me a call and I can replace it for you and if this is not the sound you hear by all means give me a call. I've been out all week, but will be in Fri.
